We’re On The Move

Dear AAUP-BHSNJ Members:

Today, June 4, 2015, we met with Rutgers Administration in negotiations. In the past, the AAUP would make a proposal and Administration would spend the majority of our bargaining session in caucus with no substantive response. As we’ve been reporting to you, the tone at the table is cooperative and our conversations are robust.

During today’s meeting, we presented the balance of our proposal on the negotiable portions of the A&P Guidelines. In addition, we presented a framework for our compensation that included:

1.Raises

2.Raises

3.Raises

4.Raises

5.Other: Tuition remission (for both employees and dependents,) contributions to retirement funds, health benefits and faculty renewal package.

Our next session is scheduled for June 10th. We will continue to update you as we progress.

In solidarity,

Ilyssa

AAUP-UMDNJ
Becomes
AAUP-BHSNJ

As of July 1, 2013, based on the integration of SOM with Rowan University and the integration of the remaining units of the former UMDNJ with Rutgers University (as per the New
Jersey Medical and Health Sciences Education Restructuring Act as of 2012) AAUP-UMDNJ became AAUP-BHSNJ.

Faculty and Librarians of the former UMDNJ at both Rutgers and Rowan (and those hired into units of the former UMDNJ) are now part of the Biomedical and Health Sciences of New Jersey American Association of University Professors unit, AAUP-BHSNJ.
