Major Announcement Concerning Bargaining Strategy – One Faculty Town Hall
We will be announcing a combined bargaining strategy with our sister union the Rutgers AAUP-AFT. This will give us more bargaining power at the table and cut down on the artificial barriers that Rutgers has created to divide faculty and pit one group against the other. Supplemental Long-Term Disability Insurance for AAUP-BHSNJ Members
We had several successful informational meetings about the supplemental disability policy for AAUP-BHSNJ membership. Update on 6.5% Overtax for NJMS Clinical Faculty
Our understanding is the additional 6.5% MSO tax applied to collections to make up for the FY2020 period will be removed starting with the April distribution. We are still working on an Memorandum of Agreement that will finally resolve this issue and our hope is that is should be done soon. If successful, faculty may see an additional return of funds consistent with the agreement.
Transition to Retirement Program deadline is April 1
For those tenured faculty interested in the program, which allows you a 0.5 FTE appointment for 1-3 years before you fully retire you can apply here. Note that the University has removed union members from the union during this transition period. We are taking action to reverse that action. To be eligible for the FTTRP,
