“The RBHS Faculty Council represents the RBHS faculty in matters that affect the University as a whole and those that affect RBHS in particular, and affords a formal mechanism through which the faculty of RBHS exercises its rights and responsibilities to participate in shared institutional governance, strategic planning, faculty initiatives, and implementation and promotion of the University’s mission and goals. We urge the RBHS administration and the AAUP, the sole parties to ongoing contract negotiations, to proceed vigorously to complete contract negotiations which will have major implications for RBHS and its faculty and which must resolve long standing issues of importance to the RBHS faculty. We are not a union, but nonetheless, we endorse AAUP-BHSNJ’s efforts to secure a fair contract for our faculty including proposals related to compensation and equity that will improve our working environment and job satisfaction while better enabling RBHS to recruit and retain outstanding faculty.”
