Things are looking UP in negotiations. We are getting closer to settlement and making excellent progress at the table.
In our recent bargaining sessions, Rutgers recognized that as part of our final settlement, we need to fill the “donut hole” which provides that Rutgers contribute to your retirement account between $141,000 and $265,000. In addition, we have come closer to agreement on a compensation package that includes recognition of the July 1, 2013 integration date, tuition remission for both employees and dependent children, extramural incentive awards, job security and progress on the negotiable portions of the A&P Guidelines. We have also had extensive and positive discussions about the elimination of “at will” employment for our members.
